I understand that this isn't Las Vegas but it seems like my current employer has no desire to keep employees. I've already told you how many people I hire. With me and my assistant, there are 19 people in my department. Last month I hired 7 new people and this month I hired 3 new people. In January, I hired about 7 people and I don't remember what I did for February and March. One of my main jobs is to keep hire people to replace people that quit.
To help slow that down, they decided to give everyone in security a raise. Maybe with a bit of money, they would stay. It could work. Time will tell.
I got the paperwork that showed the raises coming through and mine and my assistants was missing. I went down to HR to make sure that it had been filed. I was assured that they had gone down the list and checked off everyone.
Well, they had but then a change was made and my assistant and I didn't get a raise. My assistant quit. I was due for a raise anyway so I decided to stick it out to see if they made up for it.
Not did they not make up for it, my raise was two months later than it was supposed to be. I didn't start actively looking for a job because my wife and I have our financial plan working right here. A move is going to incur cost and disrupt our debt pay-off plan. We are planning on staying here for two more years and then go when we are in such a better position.
I did however open up my mind to the possibility of leaving earlier.
