Here's an interesting tip I received from Rhiia the other day.
If you lock your car keys in your car and have your cell phone with you, you can call for help. If you happen to have two remote unlocks and the person on the other end of the phone has one, they can unlock your car door for you. How cool is that?
"Honey, I locked the keys in the car."
"Okay, just a sec. Okay there you go."
You just hold your phone near your car door. The person with the remote holds the remote close to their phone and presses unlock. The car unlocks. You can lock it that way too if you happen to be talking to them as they are getting to the car. You know, just for fun.
"Quit locking the car door or I'll hang up!"
Not one to just take these things as a given, I got my wife to try it out with me. She's a good sport. I went out to the car with my phone and called her. I held the phone near the door and she unlocked it. Then she locked it and I came back in.
I'm sure that this isn't really all that cool technologically but I thought it was neat. I also don't know if people get locked out of their cars that much anymore since people lock the car with the remote lock/unlock thing after they are out of their car. Still, useful or not, I thought it was very interesting and I'm passing it on to you.
It's a lot less harmless than what Visa is doing in conjunction with Hasbro.
