The Ghost of the Bayou

It was dark in the bayou and my camera doesn't have a flash but I think you can see the ghost.  Here's the official blurb:

I didn't know about the good luck thing but I did look at his eyes.  He just didn't look real and he wasn't moving so I was watching his eyes.  He blinked or the animatronics program had him blink.  Anyway, the thing blinked.  Slowly.  He has white eye lids too. 

Ty, the conservationist of our group, said, "That would make a cool pair of boots."

The blurb says that the Ghost is pure white but he actually has a bit of green tint to him.  He's white though and just looks really odd.  I'll bet he has a hard time getting people to believe that he's just another log in the river.

"Look G, yer a nice guy and all," the other gators in Louisiana probably said.  "But, looky here, you gotta go hunt somewherez else man.  You just ain't right and even a blind redneck can see you ain't no log.  We're gittin' hungry so you gots to leave.  Nothing personal."

"Fine, I'll got to Utah," the Ghost replied.  "There's lots of white folk in Utah."

So the Ghost of the Bayou moved on out to Utah for the summer and we got to see him. 

You can't see it in this picture but just to the left is his trailer and a car up on blocks.  The still is a little further to the left but it's there.  I heard that ain't no one can make shine like the Ghost of the Bayou.

Where was this technology when I was a cop?

Last night I was sitting there just finishing up dinner when Mammoth showed up.  He's one of my karate students, works for the same company as me, and helps me out in training security officers.  He was stopping by to check on the upcoming training schedule.  While we were talking, security got a call for a woman that wouldn't wake up in one of the hotel rooms.  He asked me if I wanted him to respond with me.  Along with everything else, Mammoth is an EMT.  I told him he better come on along.

We went to the room and Husband lets us in.  Wife is on the bed, sort of breathing.  Mammoth checks for a pulse.  None.  We put Wife on the floor.  I call for an ambulance by radio.  No one acknowledged my call so I called on the phone.  They had heard me but just didn't respond.  I sent another officer for the AED.  Mammoth did several rounds of CPR and then I started helping him.

The fire department first responders showed up with an AED and hooked it up while Mammoth and I did CPR.  We cleared and the little machine with a big kick advised a shock.  One shock was delivered and Wife's heart started beating on its own.

She was taken by ambulance toward civilization where they would meet a Life Flight helicopter heading toward us. 

I haven't heard how Wife is doing but the fact that we brought her back and got her on her way is a first for me.  She's the first person that I've done CPR on that has made it that far.  We didn't have AEDs for most of my time as a cop.  Now many cops carry them in their cars. 

Truly amazing.
