Review of Taylor Hartman's Color Code - Blue

Loyalty to people and sincerity in relationships (at home and work) are their trademarks.  They believe in all causes that bring a higher quality to the human experience.  They listen with endearing empathy and speak with emotional zeal.  Blues truly value their connections to people and enjoy the accomplishments of others.  With perfection as their guide, they strive to be the best they can be.  They expect the same in their fellow beings.  Obediently, they accept the need for authority, and put their energy into supporting law and order.  They are essentially the glue that binds society together.  Blues give us positive examples in the ways they organize their lives, giving preference to personal relationships and quality achievements.  They add that special touch of excellence as they freely commit their hearts and souls to the betterment of us all in our shared journey through life."

People around me that are Blues - Tia (my wife), my mom, Mark (my brother), Cherise, Dan D, Mrs. Chili, and V.

Money and Taylor Hartman's Color Code

I know that today is supposed to be the Showtime post but I didn't see anyone this week yet.  Tommy James and the Shondells played on Friday but I didn't go.  Tonight is Saigon by Night which I will be going to but will be too late for today's post.  This week, I'll be seeing Willie Nelson, Ron White, Aaron Tippin, Mark Chesnut, and Joe Diffie.  I will probably have something to post about next Sunday.  I keep a list of topics on my desk and the list for the other blog is growing faster than I can post so I'm cross-posting it here since it's about the Color Code as well as money.

One problem with trying to get debt free is putting off the instant gratification long enough to make progress.  For some people, it might be hard just because they have dug themselves so far into debt.  Even if they have, the bottom line is that if you quit charging things on credit cards, you will pay them off.  It might take you a while if you have promised away all the money from your paychecks but it is inevitable.

One thing that can help is picturing what it the final result will be like.  What would it mean to have some extra cash?  You don't even have to be completely debt free to enjoy this feeling.  Obviously the less you owe, the more money you have in your hand to do whatever you want with.

For different people, being debt free might mean different things.

One for the Yellows before I give the Color Code a rest

One of the things that I have learned from the Color Code is to just be more accepting of people.  That's probably easier since I'm a White but anyway . . .

When someone says or does something, it can be easier to understand them when you know their color.  It can also be fun to watch the reactions from other people.

My oldest daughter is a Yellow.  A while back, she broke up with her boyfriend.  I asked her why.

"It's just not fun anymore," she said.  You can't get any more of a Yellow answer if you tried.

"Okay," I said, accepting her decision without judgement.  It's her life and it didn't affect me.  A typical White response.

When I relayed the information to my wife, she said, "That's not a good reason."  You thought I was going to say she said, "That's not right," huh?  Still, her response is a great Blue response.

When I watch these things, I can't help but smile.  It's bizarre to see these things played out like this.  Not everything in life is as clean cut as this example but things like this come along and it's just fun to observe.   

Will you miss me when I'm gone?

I like to watch people.  I don't know when I picked this habit up, probably when I was a cop, but I find it enjoyable.  I've been discussing Taylor Hartman's Color Code in my other blog but I wanted to move that discussion over here so I could get back to talking about money over there. 

Watching people from the perspective of the Color Code is interesting as well.  You see how people think and how they think differently.

Yesterday, my wife asked me during lunch, "Would you miss me if I was gone?"

"Where are you going?" I asked.

"Nowhere but what if I did?"

"Why would you leave?" I asked.

"What if I died? Would you miss me?"

"Probably not," I answered.

"Why not?"

"What's the point?  You'd be gone.  I'd have to go on."

"That's not right."

When you live with a Blue, you better get used to hearing those words.  From the other side, if you live with a White, you might as well get used to the supposed callousness.  =)
