Disclaimer: P90X is tough and you should be in decent shape before going all out using this system. You could certainly use P90X to get fit but listen to your body and only do what you can. This is *my* journal and I do not advocate that anyone do what I'm doing. Some of it is probably very foolish and you should do your own research and/or consult with a doctor before doing crazy stuff like this.
Day 82 - I did not feel well this morning. Not in the least. My ribs hurt and I was cold. I don't know why I was so cold. I put on a hoody, read my email, and drank my No-Xplode. My usual start to the day except I usually don't wear the hoody. I did not warm up so I decided to put off training for a while and made some tea.
After a couple of cups of tea, my body warmed up from the inside and what ever had its grips on me, let go.
Once I was feeling normal (as normal as *I* can feel), I did a Turbulence Training workout. I enjoy the Turbulence workouts so much more than my old weight lifting format. Supersets are for me, with as little rest as possible between sets. It makes it feel like the workout just flies by. Sometimes I'm surprised by how much time has passed when I get back to where I can see a clock. The workouts will get longer as I go but I think they'll still move quickly for me.
I followed that up with half of the P90X+ Interval Plus DVD. Half of the workout part. I did the warm up and then the first circuit, which is still a great workout. Especially when it falls on the heels of a Turbulence workout.
I've been doing really good at tracking my calories for the week. It's something that I have put off because I dislike doing it but I have taken the easy route for now. I try to eat almost the same foods from day to day so that I don't have to figure much out. Down the road, I'll branch out. For now, the key is to find the amount of calories that will allow me to lose weight and stick with it for 82 more days. From there, I can branch out into different foods.
Walking: .07 miles. It was a day off from work but I threw the pedometer in my pocket for an errand that I ran just out of curiosity.
Day 81 - I switched up my schedule midweek so that it was easier to help Tia with her Turbulence training. We were doing Turbulence on opposite days and with me helping her, it was hard for me to fit my workouts in before going to work. I am going to Turbulence with her. That way I can work out while helping her work out. That meant doing another Turbulence workout today.
They aren't the same workouts so you hit the muscles from different angles and I didn't feel like yesterday's workout hindered today's. It's still a good idea to have a rest day between them normally. This is very much a day as I suggest, not as I do thing since doing P90X Weight DVDs on the days between can hardly be called a rest day.
I did P90X+ Kenpo Cardio after Turbulence. Tia started it to see what it was like. She ended up quitting to help Trey with something but she enjoyed it. She's not a big fan of Tony Horton because he's crazy insane on the workouts but she enjoyed this workout. It's a great cardio workout and it's easy to learn the moves. Trying to keep up with Chalene Johnson can be hard sometimes and it can take several viewings to get the hang of the changes. Kenpo Cardio is done just like the other P90X workouts. Go hard for 30 to 60 seconds, then stop and change your foot position. Do it again. You don't have to learn how to transition from one exercise to the next. I think Chalene's Turbo Jam workouts are fun but P90X was built for me.
I don't detail my diet here. While I find it interesting to read blog posts with what people eat, I'm afraid that many people would find it boring. It's mostly chicken, raw fruit, some vegetables, and nuts. This week we had trout because my dad gave us some. We had some for dinner tonight. A yummy change from chicken.
Walking: 3.09 miles.
I could not believe the difference between the before and after picture for Jennifer O'Conner. She's not the same person she used to be. I'm sure the shift has been as much mental as physical so she truly isn't the same person. She said it was tough when she started because at 230 pounds, even cardio was hard on her. After doing cardio for a while, she changed her diet and added weight training. She's another one who saw what was possible and became a figure competitor. It's amazing!
