Why would he do that? I don't know. Trey is only 3 and really doesn't seem to have that many things in his life that are cuss-worthy.
There is one thing though that sets him off just about every time. He has this Thomas the Train track set up that comes with a kind of bridge set up. Putting the first track is the hardest part and it often falls before the second piece can be attached to stabilize it.
When it does, Trey says, "Dammit!"
Some of you may be wondering how Rick pulled this off after spending only a couple of days with Trey a year ago. In fact, Rick might be wondering that as well. Lucky for you, I'm going to answer that.
Next week.
Just kidding. Since this is a post about PTE Rick and cussing, it seemed appropriate to mention the profanity inducing cliff-hangers that he writes.
Anyway, Rick has always had a way of saying "Dammit" that made me laugh. Either it was the tone or the situation and was almost meant as a joke. Like an expert politician, I saw what worked and I borrowed it but put my own twist on it. Sure, Rick wants to be funny but I have the experience necessary to bring about the right kind of funny. Anyone can come in promising to be funny but will it be good funny or bad funny? Plus he knows nothing about foreign policy.
From there, it's obviously a very short trip to Trey.
And it's funny when he says it. He might be funnier than me. That's usually how it goes, isn't it? Kids one up us.
Speaking of politics, sometimes it doesn't work that way. I can just see King George doing his little shrug and chuckle, looking around at his advisors after an Obama rah-rah speech.
"Heh, heh. I don't get it. What is this see-saw Playdoh?"
And you know what his advisors say as they slap their foreheads in unison.
"Dammit!"
