1. Name 3 bad things about TV.
- Most of the crap on TV is crap. Okay, I probably don't have the experience necessary to make that judgment call but from the previews of shows I've seen, I'm sticking with my evaluation. Final answer.
- Commercials. I would probably watch more TV if there weren't any commercials. Currently, I watch an hour a week and that's all the commercials that I can stand. Not only do I feel they are wasting my time, but some I don't understand, and some I just shake my head and wonder if people really buy into the stupidity.
- The average American watches 4 hours of crap and commercials per day. After work, commute, showers, eating, and sleeping, that seems like all the rest of a person's daily allowance of time. And they obviously fall for the stupidly materialistic commercials or companies wouldn't make them.
2. Why do you watch TV when you do?
- So that I can just sit on the super comfy couch and not do anything but be entertained and mock the commercials. I plop an extra pillow behind my head and lean way back and just sink into the couch. It's a very nice treat. If the TV wasn't on, I'd probably get back up. When I read on the super, I sit sideways with my back against the arm. It's not the same "ahhhhhhhhhhhhh" feeling. When I sit on the couch to visit with my wife, I sit at the opposite end that I do for reading but with my back against the arm again. The difference, besides the different ends, is the position of my legs. Reading they are tucked up and talking they are stretched out. Like you really care. Let's get back to TV.
3. Name 3 TV dramas that you like. What makes each unique?
- I've watched the first couple episodes of New Amsterdam. It's not unique. It's Highlander without cutting off heads but I enjoyed Highlander so I thought I would give this one a try. I probably won't watch any more episodes though because they keep changing the schedule. That means my TV viewing time will go back down to zero hours a week.
- I was watching Heroes when that was on. I wish they would just go to pay-per-view for good shows. The people making the show could use a whole hour (especially important when you have that many characters) and I wouldn't have to watch commercials.
- I was also watching Journeyman before it too went off the air. That happened on accident. I get into my super comfy position on the coach for Heroes and then couldn't get up before seeing previews for Journeyman. Then I'd have to sit through the show to see how it turned out.
4. What's one of the worst things about TV today?
- That the news programs have turned into nothing more than propaganda outlets.
5. What's one of the better things about TV today?
- Wall mounted flat screens. I really like the idea of having more space in my house. I haven't been willing to pay money to actually get one but I like the idea. It's hard to justify spending the money on something that you watch between 0 and 2 hours a week. Although, it would be nice for my exercise DVDs. I would want to make sure that it was well mounted because Plyo X shakes the floor. Maybe for Christmas this year.
