Check out this pic that Cherise was kind enough to share with me. What do you think? McGuyver ingenuity or as redneck as you can possibly get?
Today's post on the SW blog is about internet gambling. The woman in the picture was gambling that no one would take a picture of her face.
Gambling and lottery participation will probably increase this next year. People will spend money they should be spending elsewhere on the slight chance of winning.
I just got this month's Money magazine and there's a piece in there on predictions for 2008. I have only read the introducing paragraph and they state that there isn't going to be a recession. I'm going to have to finish reading the article to see how they came to that conclusion. I'm sticking with my forecast of 80% chance of recession with 100% of people taking foolish risks with their money out of desperation.
Remember the question that was starting to go public about a week ago? Is mainstream media ignoring Ron Paul?
Now, don't ask me how I didn't know about Google Trends with all the time I spend on the net. I have missed out. Anyway . . .
I think this trend is telling. As interest in Ron Paul has gone up, news references haven't. Now, if I was in the news business (and knew about Google Trends), I'd keep my eye on what people were interested in and then I would fill that need. That's a good way to do business. Find something people want and then offer it to them.
The fact that they haven't done this for the period of this graph is telling. We should see the news reference line start to go up now since the November 5th fundraiser and the large "real person" rallies (because people using computers aren't real people).
That reminds me. I was wrong about something. Remember that I said that the tinfoil hat might end up being a rallying point for Ron Paul supporters? I was wrong. That's disappeared. The reply to all the people trying to suppress Ron Paul has been references to the spambots. Even Ron Paul joked about the 2 dozen spammers that make his polls look like he has a lot of support. He said this at a rally of about 4,000 people.
