My first day of painting was more about not painting. I want to say that it was crazy but I think that's probably just how my life goes but it's very noticeable when I actually have a huge project to do where it would be nice to have an hour or two of uninterrupted time.
Not that the day was a complete loss. I just didn't get as much done as I was hoping.
I am thinking that tomorrow should be much better and Saturday should be very productive. Tia and I worked on doing some prep work for tomorrow but there's a lot more to be done. Hopefully by tomorrow night, everything is set to go through in one last swoop on Saturday (well, probably Sunday too for a second coat).
I thought I was going to have to sue the maker of my couch tonight. I have vaulted ceilings and in the living room, I have this bay area that is also vaulted. I bought a ladder for this project so that I can reach my vaulted ceilings but this ladder is too big for the little alcove area. The step that I have been using to reach the corner where the wall meets the ceiling at the short end was too short for the alcove area. So, I went to baby bear's step ladder and it was just right.
Dude!
Seriously.
No, actually what I did was this little circue de soleil thing where I had one foot on window sill and one foot on the back of the couch, which has been moved a considerable distance away from the wall. It worked perfectly until I needed to move. As I shifted my weight to the head rest of the couch to take a step forward, it nearly tipped over. I finished painting and then checked for warning labels on the couch and there isn't one that states that a person should not walk on the back of the couch so I think I would have had a case.
Anyway, time for some sleep so I can get up and do it all again tomorrow.
