I went through the trouble of creating different friend lists, subdividing all my actual friends down to some niche or other. I have a friend list for family, a list for people that I work with, and a list for wickid smaht people from New England, amongst others.
I had too many people before and a status would come and go without me knowing it because there were just too many happening at one time. This gave me a chance to scan through groups of people and actually try to make some kind of connection. I could check Facebook in the morning and again before bed and feel like I was up on the current news, at least of what people were putting out to the world.
Last week, my connection bliss ended violently when Facebook suddenly decided to hide my friends lists from me. Oh, I checked, and they still exist. I just can't check the status for any group of friends now. If I want to see the status for those friends, I have to click through to each person's page. Dude! I have the patience of a 4 year old. That just ain't gonna happen.
So, for those of you where I'm a regular commenter or at least a regular "liker" and now you're wondering why I don't care anymore, now you know. Facebook is making it too hard for me to care. Sorry.
I have sent a request to them to fix it but since they have half the planet as users, I'm not sure how quickly I can expect any results.
"Now serving number 3,837,492,203."
"Uhhh, what does it mean when it says that I'm number 4.35TB on the list?"
"It means that you're screwed."
"Yeah, that's what I thought."
So, for now, I'm not much of a Facebooker.
