Sword Point Saturday - When you gotta
What kinds of tricks do you use to get yourself to do things that you don't really want to do but that you know need to be done?
I have two favorites.
1. Break it down into small tasks if possible. Just get a little bit done at a time. It eventually reaches a point where I just go, "Screw it! Let's finish this."
2. Delegate. I find people that enjoy doing the things that I don't and have them do it.
Your turn.

I find having to answer to you weekly gets me doing my work outs. I fear your wrath. ;)
On most things I try to insert an element that I do enjoy. For instance house work. It sux but I have to do it, so I listen to my favorite music really loud. It helps.

Summer, I'm the same way on housework. Jammin' the tunes changes the whole thing.
Yeah, I can tell how much you fear my wrath.

Motivation is a very elusive thing. I just recently saw a film that I would strongly recommend everyone to see. Many people on the internet are calling it the sequel to the secret, but personally I think this film was by far better, more useful and an excellent tool for goal setting. It features many of the same cast from The secret, and several other top busienss leaders. It was great. Be sure to check it out www.TheOpusMovie.com

I'm pretty big on delegating. Now that I have some extra money, I'm not afraid to pay people to do tasks that I might not want to do myself . . . or I'll trade labor.
I paid a friend who needed money to prepare my spring mailing. I paid someone else to do the graphics design work on my logo. These are things I could've done, but I spent the time doing other things (like writing) that are better for me, and not as frustrating.

Mark, that's great as long as you aren't doing it sadly.
Tim H, I haven't seen The Secret yet. I actually have it in the house because so many people have talked about it but haven't had the time to watch it.
Ricky T, I'm moving more and more in that direction. There isn't enough time in the day for me to do the things that I want to do, let alone try to get in the things that I don't want to do.
