Success Warrior Diet Program: P90X Journal (Cruise Plan Days 42 - 41)

Cruiseship Disclaimer: P90X is tough and you should be in decent shape before going all out using this system.  You could certainly use P90X to get fit but listen to your body and only do what you can.  This is *my* journal and I do not advocate that anyone do what I'm doing.  Some of it is probably very foolish and you should do your own research and/or consult with a doctor before doing crazy stuff like this.

Day 42 - As I reported in the last P90X Journal post, I lost 2 pounds during my recovery week.  I didn't expect that because until the week before, I haven't lost much weight and because I increased the number of calories that I ate during the recovery week.  I've decided to increase my calories to that level for my weight lifting weeks and increase calories again during the next recovery week to see what happens.  I don't care about losing weight during the recovery weeks.  The idea is to recover.  To let the muscles heal from the weight lifting and to eat enough to allow the process to go without hindrance.

4 more pounds and I'll be the lightest that I've been in who knows how many years.  I was at 188 last year before I got hit in the throat with a stick during karate practice.  I'm at 191 now.  I don't think I look as good as I did last year but I'll take a picture when I hit 187 and let you decide.

Tigger I started the day with P90X Plyometrics X.  I still can't get air born the whole time but I sure like this workout.  On the Mary Katherines, I do the easiest version so that I can catch my breath.  You can do the same thing during P90X+ Interval Plus.  Instead of bumping up the intensity every 20 seconds, every once in a while you can do the whole minute at the lowest intensity if you need to.  It's still a cardio workout if you keep on moving, panting, and sweating.  You don't have to keep up with Tony Horton and the kids.

After Plyo X, I drank my P90X recovery drink and then mowed the lawn.  I'm one of those crazy people that would mow the lawn for fun.  Years ago, my mower broke down.  I traded my services as a lawn mower for the use of a lawn mower from Milan.  I borrowed his mower to mow my lawn and then when I got back to his house with the mower, I mowed his lawn.  He hated mowing his lawn so it was a perfect deal.  I bought the gas and did the work and he drank margaritas while sitting in the shade.  Okay, he didn't really drink margaritas but it was still a good deal.

Around noon, I did P90X X Stretch before I got too tired.  I only got 4 hours of sleep so if I waited too long, I knew that it wouldn't happen.  I've been really trying to get the yoga and stretching in during this new plan so I did it before fatigue would sap my motivation.  I am getting more flexible.  There are a couple of poses that I do that are drastically different than when I started.  Who knows, in another year, I might be one of those freaks that can do 100 push ups and the splits.  Yeah, not likely, but I'm going to be working in that direction anyway.

I am absolutely loving White Flood and Anabolic Halo.  I ordered some more because I'm going to keep taking this stuff for a while.  I'm losing weight but I'm getting more definition.  What ever is happening is good and I want to keep it going.  I'm convinced that these two products along with the P90X Recovery Drink are helping me make the change.  There are other factors, to be sure, but since I've started to take these products, I've seen noticeable changes.  Call me superstitious but if it's working, I'm going to keep doing it.

Walking: 3.61 miles.

Me-Me Monday: 5 Things I Like

Raindropsonroses Today's meme is from Take 5 Tuesday:

5 of your favorite words -

Interesting question.  It's one of the reasons why I chose this meme.  I've never given any thought to any favorite words.

"Dude" will have to be one.  I use it a lot in my comedic blogs and comments.

"Definitely" is something that I type up a lot.  I seldom took a stand before blogging but I find myself doing it more and more.  There are some things that just are.

"Girl" will need to be on the list.  It's what I call Tia when it's just me and her.

I'll throw "Spartacus" onto the list for similar reasons.  I've been calling Trey Spartacus since before he was born.  I used to talk to him through the stomach wall.

Allow me to go off on a tangent here while I'm thinking about that time of his life.  He used to get the hiccups a lot before he was born.  It was the funniest thing to see Tia's stomach bounce over and over when he hiccuped.  I can't help but smile when he gets the hiccups now because of the memories.

"Dammit!"  It's my cuss word.  I don't use profanity except for this word.  Sometimes as a joke and sometimes for real.  Tia and Trey have picked up on it and both of them say it.  That's may end up being my legacy.

"Dammit!  Here lies Success Warrior."

Success Warrior Diet Program: P90X Journal (Cruise Plan Days 45 - 43)

Cruiseship Disclaimer: P90X is tough and you should be in decent shape before going all out using this system.  You could certainly use P90X to get fit but listen to your body and only do what you can.  This is *my* journal and I do not advocate that anyone do what I'm doing.  Some of it is probably very foolish and you should do your own research and/or consult with a doctor before doing crazy stuff like this.

Day 45 - P90X+ Total Body Plus.  You do work your whole body too because you're doing some pretty bizarre stuff.  Things like curls while standing on one leg.

You're obviously working your biceps but your also working the leg that your standing on and your abs as you try to keep everything under control while you lift and lower the weights.

Coffee I was thinking about Yoga X and my comment about how long it is.  I have read numerous accounts of people who have done half in the morning and the other half in the evening.  I just wanted to throw that option out there for people.

If you're using P90X as part of a lifelong health aid, you don't have to do it exactly as outlined.  You can modify things to fit your life.  If you don't have 90 minutes to spend all at once doing yoga (or if you don't *want* to), you can certainly do 45 minutes when you wake up and the other 45 minutes before you go to bed.  I won't say there aren't any rules but I will say that the rules allow for a lot of flexibility.  Flexibility is a good thing when talking about Yoga X, in more ways than one.

At work, I learned that the guy that challenged me to a push up contest in September has doubled his max already.  That was quick.  I've decided to quit alternating P90X with Turbulence Training workouts within the same week and go with a different plan that will have more push ups in it.  Sport specific training, if you will.  I'm still not going to focus solely on the push ups but just add in a couple days where I do a bunch of extra push ups.  I'm going to stick with my cycle of 2 weeks of weights with 1 week of recovery.  The two weeks of weights will change after each recovery week to keep the muscle confusion going.  I've set up a 12 week plan.  It'll be interesting to see how it goes.

Sunset When I got home from work, I did the Turbo Jam 20 Minute workout with the weighted gloves.  Thursdays I keep it shorter because I have karate.

I've started exercising in karate class.  Today we did 45 minutes of cardio and body weight exercises.  We'll probably work our way up to an hour.  I have to spend time teaching them the moves I want them to do.  When they know it all, we'll be able to pick up the pace plus get in a few extra circuits.  We focused on legs and triceps tonight.

They're going to need to work out on their own as well.  Once a week probably isn't going to do a whole lot.  Anything is better than nothing but people should probably  workout  vigorously at least 3 hours a week.

Walking: 3.97 miles.

Snippet Saturday - Penis Snatchers, The Secret, and Sailor

Penisthief Is nothing safe anymore?  Honestly.  You can't ride in a taxi in Congo without worrying about someone stealing your penis and holding it for ransom.  There is some good news.  The police have arrested 13 of the penis snatchers so far.

13 sorcerors of the black arts who can make a man's penis disappear or shrink just by touching them.  You don't get your dick back until you give them some money.

I always thought the weenie thief was a Jeff Foxworthy joke but I guess they really exist.  Trey often has a good hold on his, you know, just in case a sorceror from Congo happens to be in the neighborhood.

Where Was This Program When I Was a Teenager?

Not that I would have been more fit by any means.

"Where's SW?" mom would ask.

"Doing his exercise video again," dad would say.

"That boy sure likes to exercise," she would reply.

Success Warrior Diet Program: P90X Journal (Cruise Plan Days 47 - 46)

Cruiseship Disclaimer: P90X is tough and you should be in decent shape before going all out using this system.  You could certainly use P90X to get fit but listen to your body and only do what you can.  This is *my* journal and I do not advocate that anyone do what I'm doing.  Some of it is probably very foolish and you should do your own research and/or consult with a doctor before doing crazy stuff like this.

Day 47 - I started the day by exercising for eternity.  I hadn't forgotten how long the P90X Yoga X DVD was (90 minutes) but I had forgotten what it felt like.  I know that this DVD is the least favorite for a lot of P90X people and I'm going to have to give them all an amen.

It just seems to drag on.  There are so many updogs and downdogs that my shoulders give out and my legs aren't strong enough to do all the one-leg stuff that I'm supposed to do.  Yoga X was my introduction to yoga and I was okay with it but after doing Bryan Kest's Power Yoga, I'm not as okay with it.  I'm glad my current plan has me doing Yoga X once every 3 weeks.  Maybe I'll build up the strength over time to do the dang thing.

There was a bit of fun near the end.  Trey decided to join in with me.  He had me slide over on my mat so that he could share.  He did Bridge, Cobbler's Pose, and the seated hamstring stretches.  It was fun to watch him participate.  Do you remember when exercise wasn't exercise, it was just a game?

In the evening, Trey and I went for a walk.  Tia had a meeting that she attended so I asked Trey what he wanted to do.  He wanted to go for a "long" walk where he would be riding his bike.  It wasn't as long as he had originally intended but he decided that he was hungry and he wanted dinner.  It was still a good bit of distance considering how many times he has to pedal to get those little wheels to any sort of distance.  We turned around and came back for some dinner.

Walking: 2.36 miles.

Sinbad

Sinbad Sinbad performed last weekend, without sitting on my lap which I'm happy about.

He was funny too.

He did a lot of audience participation which I don't enjoy but he did a good job of it.  He did a lot of explaining the habits of men for the women of the audience.  Women could ask him questions and he would explain things for them.

"Why do men golf so much?"

"To get away from you."

Golf started out only having a couple of holes but it got longer to increase the amount of time men could be out.

He also explains how to put an end to the habit.

"Go with him.  It takes away the reason for going."

"Why don't men put the toilet seat down?" was a question.

"Why don't women put the toilet seat up?" was the answer.  The logic being that the person going should be responsible for adjusting the seat to where they need.  It's hard to guess who will need the toilet next so instead of guessing, each person should learn how to operate the seat function.  He said it's a fairly simple skill to learn and even demonstrated how the seat works for the women in the audience.

Outside of the show, Sinbad was a very nice guy.  He shook hands with people and visited with them briefly when he was going into the hotel.

This week is Wayne Newton and Lewis Black.

Success Warrior Diet Program: P90X Journal (Cruise Plan Days 49 - 48)

Cruiseship Disclaimer: P90X is tough and you should be in decent shape before going all out using this system.  You could certainly use P90X to get fit but listen to your body and only do what you can.  This is *my* journal and I do not advocate that anyone do what I'm doing.  Some of it is probably very foolish and you should do your own research and/or consult with a doctor before doing crazy stuff like this.

Day 49 - Well, well, well.

I lost 2 pounds this week.

How cool is that?

With all the hard training I've been doing and the slow progress I seem to be making, 2 pounds is wonderful.  I think I'm seeing more definition.  Tia gave me a back massage a couple of days ago and she said that she could see a difference.  That's nice.

I'm into my recovery week so that means less weight lifting and more calories.  I'm adding about 1400 extra calories for the week.  That's not really that much.  200 calories a day isn't a whole lot.  At least not for a 195 193 pound male doing excessive amounts of exercise.  When I get down to the weight that I want to be, I'll be able to eat copious amounts of food without gaining weight.

I keep saying it and I'll say it again.  If you like to enjoy food, work out hard.  It's worth it.  Life was meant to be lived this way.  Sweat a lot, eat a lot, laugh a lot with friends, love a lot with your spouse.  It seems like so many people live a life of dullness.  That's not what it's supposed to be like.

I started the day with Bryan Kest's Power Yoga Energize.  I really like this workout.  I'm getting better at it.  I still struggled.  Probably because of all the other workouts that I do.  I'm not trying to make excuses but if I took a couple of days off, I could probably hold the poses for a few seconds longer.

Me-Me Monday: Guilty Pleasures

Chocolategirl Today's meme is from Friday Fun and it's all about guilty pleasures.

One thing you should know about me before we start is that I don't do guilt.  I don't believe in it.  To me, feeling guilty is putting other people's expectations above mine.  Quite frankly, my expectations are high enough and are exactly in line with how I want my life to go.  I don't need to put anyone else's expectations on top of that.  That being said, let's move on to the meme with the idea that these are special treats that I don't feel guilty about but don't do often.

1. Food - Pizza.  I don't enjoy it like I used to but I still enjoy it.  Maybe because it triggers memories.  I don't know.  Ricky T and I used to eat pizza quite often and I became the master of pizza slice flipping.  Once again, I apologize to the bald guy that I hit on the top of the head with the piece of sausage.  I did make the catch on the double flip though, if that's any consolation and Pizza Hut didn't ban me from their restaurant.  Rick and I were probably there best customers.

Success Warrior Diet Program: P90X Journal (Cruise Plan Days 52 - 50)

Day 52 - P90X Chest, Shoulders, and Triceps followed by Ab Ripper X.

My ribs are getting better and I'm doing better at the Ab Ripper.  Not great but better.

I did the Turbo Jam 20 minute cardio after work.  The Turbo Jam DVDs are fun because Chalene Johnson and the kids are just plain having fun.  It's not a workout.  It's play time.  There are even "bust a move" breaks where you just go off and do your own thing.

I taught karate tonight and we got back into working out.  We go through about 30 minutes of cardio and body weight exercises.  We slowed down in a couple places because there was a new student and we only did one circuit of the weight exercises.  We used to do three so we'll build back up to that.

Walking: 4.07 miles.

Snippet Saturday - Family wagon, Naked Yoga, and Laundry

Stationwagon I mentioned the family wagon earlier this week.  Since then I've heard a couple of people talk about the new "cross-overs" coming out.  Station wagon must sound too family-ish, like that's a bad thing.  Hatchback sounds cheap.  Mini-SUV?  So now we have cross-overs.  What are people crossing over?

Probably downsizing from gas guzzling SUVs.  Trying to find something with the same sort of look but with a couple more miles to the gallon.

I'm thinking about buying a mini-SUV myself for the gas mileage.  Saturn is supposed to be coming out with a plug-in hybrid Vue.  With my teeny little commute, I'd rarely need to buy gas.

I'll be one of the hip people, cruising around in my cross over.

Success Warrior Diet Program: P90X Journal (Cruise Plan Days 54 - 53)

Cruiseship Disclaimer: P90X is tough and you should be in decent shape before going all out using this system.  You could certainly use P90X to get fit but listen to your body and only do what you can.  This is *my* journal and I do not advocate that anyone do what I'm doing.  Some of it is probably very foolish and you should do your own research and/or consult with a doctor before doing crazy stuff like this.

Day 54 - P90X Legs and Back because apparently my legs don't get enough exercise.

I followed it up with P90X+ Abs/Core Plus.  I enjoy this workout more than Ab Ripper X.  You do exercises hanging from the pull up bar, standing, in plank position, and on your back.  They move fast though.  I'm going to have to put more effort into the hanging exercises.  I run out of time before I run out of energy.  That's not normally the case with ab exercises and me.

I ended the day with Kest's Power Yoga Tone.  I couldn't hold all the poses because I'm not "toned" enough.  Don't kid yourself about Yoga.  You have to be strong to do it.  I have quite a way to go.  I'm getting a bit more flexible but I'll be happy when I can just hold the poses as long as the DVD, no matter how deep in the pose I am.

My P90X Recovery drink arrived today.  I've read quite a few blogs of other people who have tried it.  There is little doubt in how good it is for you but the taste has gotten quite the mixed review.  I tried it when I got it to see if I was going to like it.  I went with extra water because I tried a drink similar to this a few weeks ago and the thing that put me off was how thick it was.  For some reason, the orange cream sickle flavor and thickness don't match in my brain.  Knowing this ahead of time, I watered it down.  It tasted like watered down Orange Julius.  Probably not appealing to some but it was fine for me.  I tend to dilute most of the powdered mixes that I have.  That's just the weird way that I like them.  You can learn more about what's in it by visiting HERE and clicking on Shop for Products.

Walking: 2.10 miles.  It was my day off from work but I thought I would see how far I walk in a day just taking care of stuff at the house.  I told Tia my mileage and she asked me where I had walked to.  To the bedroom, to the kitchen, helping Trey, and just here and there in the house.  Trey and I did go to the post office but we drove so any walking at the post office would have been minor.  2 miles of walking around my house seems like a lot to me but maybe everybody is like that.

Tony Orlando, No Dawn, John Mayall, and Dave Mason

Tonyorlando He started right off with Tie a Yellow Ribbon and moved into Knock Three Times and then went off and did all kinds of music.  Willie Nelson, George Straight, Led Zepellin, and Black Sabbath.

I also got to see the woman that does the Meow Mix meowing.  I should have gotten her autograph.  Maybe they'll come back.

The next night was John Mayall and Dave Mason.  I had never heard of either of them.

John Mayall is a father of British Blues or some such title.  Sir John Mayall, I believe.  As the father of British Blues, he's been knighted.  Many people don't know this but the reason the holy war was a complete disaster was the lack of harmonica soloists.  To make sure this doesn't happen again, Mayall was knighted.

The concert didn't sell very well and I actually sat out in the audience and watched the show.  Very enjoyable.

I ended up helping kick a drunk out at half time.  I wasn't planning on doing much of anything except watching the shows but anytime their is a disturbance in the force, they call me in to make sure things go smoothly.  And it did.

I had never heard of Dave Mason either but I had heard this song before.  Probably while cruising around in the back of the family station wagon.

Success Warrior Diet Program: P90X Journal (Cruise Plan Days 56 - 55)

Cruiseship Disclaimer: P90X is tough and you should be in decent shape before going all out using this system.  You could certainly use P90X to get fit but listen to your body and only do what you can.  This is *my* journal and I do not advocate that anyone do what I'm doing.  Some of it is probably very foolish and you should do your own research and/or consult with a doctor before doing crazy stuff like this.

Day 56 - No weight change.  I can live with that for now.  I want to get to where I'm able to complete a couple cycles without bonking.  If I get to that point and nothing has changed, I can ease back on the calories.  There's no rush.  I want to find what will work long term for me.

I did P90X Plyometrics X this morning.  It's a great way to turn your legs into jello.  Modify, modify, modify.  I can't get into the air all the way through but I just keep on trying and when I can't go airborne anymore, I just try to get down as low as I can.

One thing that I have been better about this month is logging in to WOWY for each workout.  Every time that you log in for a workout at Million Dollar Body, you have a chance to win a prize.  Prizes range from cash to iPods.  You don't even have to use Beach Body products to play.  If you are going to do any type of exercise, you can log in and play for free.  That's pretty darn cool.

I'm doing the exercise, I might as well take the few seconds that it takes to log in for a chance to win.

In the afternoon, I did the X Stretch.  Love it!  It feels so good to get everything stretched out after working hard all week.  I need to get back in for a massage as well.

Walking: 3.09 miles.

Success Warrior Diet Program: P90X Journal (Nutrition Change)

Target The first two full cycles that I ran since being injured and sicker than a dog, I ran out of steam in the third week.  I was drained and struggling to make it through the last few days before the recovery week came to my rescue.

I have changed my cycle and tweaked my nutrition to see if I can fix the problem.

I shortened the cycle by a week so that I'm doing the hard workouts for only two weeks before taking a recovery week.  Recovery week does not mean "no exercise" by any stretch of the imagination.  It's a break from the heavier lifting and ab work.  I still do cardio, the P90X+ weight programs (which use lighter weight but lots more reps), yoga, and stretching.

On the nutrition front, I increased my calories a bit, about 200 a day.  I need to find the balance point.  I'm more concerned with having energy and feeling good then about losing weight but I don't want to gain weight.  After one week on this plan, I had no weight change.  That's not a bad thing because I might be adding some muscle and losing some fat.  I'll keep monitoring to see if and what I need to change down the road.

I don't eat the same amount of calories each day.  I take the weekly total and go up and down with some higher calorie days and some lower calorie days.

I also changed my supplements, just to try something new.  I'm still happy with BSN No-Xplode and BSN CellMass but I thought I would try some other popular supplements to see how I like them.  So far, so good.

Day 59 - P90X Chest, Shoulders, and Triceps started my day.  Wanna know the best part of this DVD?

No leg workout.  I worked my legs Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.  It was great to not work them today.

I followed the pushing exercises with P90X+ Abs/Core Plus.  My ribs are doing much better and I was able to put a lot of effort into this workout.  It made a big difference.

In the afternoon, I did Kest's Power Yoga Energize.  I really enjoy this workout.  I couldn't hold that first super long downward dog pose for as long as everyone else.  Yoga is not easy and trying to hold that pose after working chest, shoulders, and triceps takes it beyond "gee, this is hard."

Walking: 3.82 mile.

Advanced Training: Success Warrior's NPC workout

Sweat I'm going to be making an exclusive offer for readers of this blog.  I'll be releasing a DVD and workbook for a new workout and readers will be able to buy it before the general release and they'll get it at a discounted price.  It's my way of thanking you for visiting my blog.

It is an advanced workout so I would highly recommend that you finish at least one time through P90X or have worked your way up to the Original Turbulence Training program before starting my workout.

Alternatively, you could order it and try it and just take it at a very easy pace to start off with and work your way up in duration and intensity until you have mastered the workout.

This program combines many of the most popular training programs out today into one fun-filled workout.  You get High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), strength training, flexibility, balance, and there's even some plyometrics thrown in for good measure.

I can say with absolute certainty that you will sweat like you've never sweat before and yet, it won't even feel like you're working out.  Gone will be the days of dreading your next exercise session.  You'll find yourself looking forward to the next workout almost as soon as you've completed one.  I do recommend taking at least one day off in between workouts, keeping them to a maximum of 3 to 4 a week, because you have to let your body recover from the exertion.

Sexyworkout You're also going to want to follow good diet guidelines.  Take a multivitamin, drink the P90X recovery drink after a session, eat lean protein, and plenty of raw fruits and vegetables.  You will need to keep your water intake high and make sure you're getting enough sleep at night.  The training is rigorous and you're going to need to fuel your body for peak performance.

The basic format is similar to other interval training workouts.  You're going to warm up for a few minutes because the last thing that I want is for you to get hurt (and you can definitely get hurt doing the NPC workout so please be careful).  After the warm up, you'll take the intensity up a bit for a minute, then bring it back down for a minute.  You'll bump it up even higher for minute.  This time, when you bring it back down, you'll switch so that you're working different muscles or in a different fashion.  You'll switch between pure cardio, strength, balance, and flexibility.  If you're feeling up to you, you can go for the bonus plyometric circuit.  It's three minutes (one minute each of low, medium, and high intensity) that you'll never forget.  You'll bring it all to a peak of exertion and then follow it up with a short cool down session.

You won't need any special equipment to get started.  I will be releasing a line of SW Products that can be used to add a little variety to the workout or change angles so that you're working different muscles but to begin, all you're going to need is a willing attitude.

And a workout partner.

In order to achieve optimum results with the NPC workout, you're going to have to have a workout buddy.  Someone who has the same goals as you and the same willingness to sweat and have fun.

Check back often for the official release of Success Warrior's Naked Partner Calisthenics workout.  This offer will not be offered in stores.

Day 61 - P90X Legs and Back went better than I thought considering my strained leg muscle.  In fact, legs went fine.  It was the pull ups that were tougher than normal.  Nothing to do with my legs or even my sore ribs (which are getting so close to feeling back to normal).  I don't know why I couldn't get up.

That's never happened to me before.  Maybe it's stress or I was tired this morning.

Ab Ripper X was a totally different story where my sore leg muscles were concerned.  It made many of those moves harder.  I was able to do some reps of moves that I wasn't able to do two weeks ago because of my ribs.  They hurt a bit but I was able to do some.

In the afternoon, I did the P90X X Stretch hoping that it would help me prepare for karate class.  Knee strikes were hard yesterday so I was hoping to loosen things up a bit.  It felt good but didn't help for class.  Maybe it did.  Maybe it would have been worse.  An hour of stretching is never a waste and I'm glad I did it.

Walking: .98 miles

Up close and personal with Rick Springfield

Springfield Rick Springfield was back for another concert over the weekend.  He puts on a great concert.  Lots of music, high energy, audience participation, and it looks like he's just having a great time.

I can kind of pick and choose which concerts I do security for.  Rick put on a great concert last time so I was planning on going.

I don't get to pick not to do security for the concerts that have a high probability for being a little rambunctious.  That means that I would have been going anyway.  I'm the guy that gets called to make sure drunks comply with instructions and also the guy that drags people off the stage.

I sit very close to the stage area where I can see everyone in the audience and where I can quickly grab anyone that jumps up on stage.  Where I sit is kind of dark and has blank curtains behind me.  I usually dress in dark clothes where I can just blend in and watch the action from the shadows.

Everything was going according to plan while Rick was doing a little group participation in singing, "Don't Talk to Strangers."  Then the plan changed.

Success Warrior Diet Program: P90X Journal (Cruise Plan Days 63 - 62)

Day 63 - Nothing like Plyometric X to get your day going when you're tired.  Well, maybe a kick in the privates would have a similar effect.  Just kidding.  It was tough as always.  I can't do all the jumps yet.  I don't know if I ever will.  It doesn't matter.

Tia and I were talking about the different DVDs we have and decided that when they get too easy, they will lose value to us.  As long as I'm struggling, it's great training.

I weighed in today.  No change.  I'm not really concerned with weight but it's a good gage to see if I'm eating too much.  I don't want to gain weight at this point.  I ate extra during the previous week to help in the recovery aspect of the recovery week.

Speaking of recovery, I ordered the P90X recovery drink.  It's a combination of protein, carbs, glutamine, and other goodies that escape my memory (click on shop for products to see what's in it).  If I'm going to push as hard as I did in the last two cycles, I'm goi
